4.2 Introducing the CENOFIA analysis tool
Unit 4.2 intends to introduce learnes to the “CENOFIA Analysis Tool”, its structure and technical handling as well as its possibilities and limits.
STEP 1: Download and open the “CENOFIA Analysis Tool”
The “CENOFIA Analysis Tool” is an Excel based analysis instrument that:

- combines all analysis methods previously mentioned in unit 4.1 and
- enables a great variety of users to conduct an analysis, taking into account their purposes, interests and expertise.
Start with the sheet “Introduction” and watch the corresponding “Screen recording Unit 4.2_Introduction into the CENOFIA Analysis Tool”
STEP 2: “Assessment exercise I Unit 4.2_ Company Profile”
The assessment excercise I is intended to get familiar with the functioning of the CENOFIA Analysis Tool.
- Go to the sheet “Company Profile”
- Read “Material for Assessment exercise I Unit 4.2_Company Profile” (Extract from DPDHL CR Report 2017: Business model, Workforce and Employment data)
- Answer the questions in the CENOFIA Analysis Tool.
- Try to complete the task in 15 minutes.
STEP 3: “Assessment exercise II Unit 4.2_ Stakeholder”
The assessment exercise II is intended to get familiar with analysing information with regard to one specific aspect.
- Go to sheet “Stakeholder”
- Read “Material for Assessment exercise II Unit 4.2_Stakeholder” (Extract from Deutsche Telekom CR Report 2017: Stakeholder Management)
- Answer the questions in the CENOFIA Analysis Tool.
- Try to complete the task in 15 minutes.
Please note:
- Being introduced to the CENOFIA Analysis Tool for the first time might be overwhelming for, especially for those learners with limited Excel skills. Therefore, make sure to understand the basic functioning of the tool and the basic purposes of each analysis sheet for the beginning.
- Avoid skipping from one sheet to another too much and too fast.
- The “Material for Assessment exercise Unit 4.2” provides extracts from CR reports from Deutsche Post DHL and Deutsche Telekom to use in order to get familiar with the CENOFIA Analysis Tool, but learners are encouraged to research and use own examples.
